Help for Oklahoma Homeowners

May 21, 2013

As Oklahoma recovers from the devastation caused by recent tornadoes, Fannie Mae wants to remind affected homeowners with Fannie Mae mortgage loans secured by single-family properties that they may be eligible for:

  • Forbearance that can temporarily suspend or reduce mortgage payments.
  • Suspension of legal actions in process (i.e., foreclosures).

“We know that many people have had their lives impacted as a result of this disaster and our thoughts and prayers are with them, notes Leslie Peeler, senior vice president of Fannie Mae’s National Servicing Organization based in Dallas, Texas. “We’ll work with our servicers to make sure they provide the appropriate options to homeowners,” she adds.
